Identify three (3) quantitative results from the research, provide an evaluation of the results in respect to the effect diversity has on a company. Answers: 1. The General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration in 1948. Its inception was due to the experiences gathered from the preceding world wars. It was the first time that the countries of the United Nations settled on an all-inclusive statement of alienable human rights (Humanrights.org.au, 2017). The Universal Declaration states that the intrinsic dignity found within all humans is the basis of liberty, integrity and harmony in the world. The Declaration puts forward the view that human rights are all-inclusive and universal. It is supposed to be a privilege for all people, irrespective of their background or where they live. The Declaration includes civil and political rights that include rights such as freedom, life, free speech and confidentiality. It evens relates to social, cultural and economic rights (Humanrights.gov.au, 2017). 2. Australia is considered as a multicultural and diverse country, having both indigenous and overseas population. According to research, Australia has 43% of its population and 25% of its workforce born in some other country. This data supports the claim of Australias population being the most diverse in the world. The migration percentage in Australia stands at 25%, with migration happening via different programs. Understanding this migration process helps in understanding the cultural effects it has on the persons life in Australia. With an overall understanding of the fact that the Australian population and the workforce comprises mostly of people from different backgrounds, it must also be understood that it has a significant impact on the diversity level in organizations.
